Turning to the Dark Side

Let's face it, black is the base of everything in fashion. It's versatile, easy to style, goes with absolutely everything, and is easy to keep clean. I bet that at least 50% of your closet is either black or some other dark color. I've been writing so much about spring outfits that I decided to go dark for those of you who aren't big fans of pastels or bright colors. Here are 4 Outfits that will keep you ready for spring, while not fully committing to the "happy" colors.

Outfit № 1 - 90s Lace

The t-shirt and slip dress continues to thrive, and to make it more spring-like I used this lace dress with floral detailing to make the black look darker but not too overpowering. I added some frilly socks to continue with the light lace look and paired it with some chunky sandals. To add the slightest touch of color, I added a gold necklace with the smallest amount of blue on it. I finished the look off by adding some texture with the furry clutch.

Items Used:
Vinyl - Black Lace Camisole Dress
Vinyl - White Plain Crew Neck Tee
*Royalty - Pearl Hotpants
Runway - Lace Frill Socks
Diesel - Cuir Diesel Heels
Nelly - Fake Fur Clutch
Mawi - Sapphire Slogan and Heart Pendant

*The hotpants are optional, I added them so that the look didn't feel incomplete, you can instead replace the shirt and hotpants with a Voile white ballet bodysuit

Outfit № 2 - Flowy Jumpsuit

A jumpsuit is a perfect piece for the light spring weather. It's simple and pretty comfortable (except when you have to go to the restroom). In this outfit, I added a tank top underneath to appear more casual, and added a few pops of turquoise here and there, but not to make it look overwhelming. Of course, I finished the look off with some chunky sandals because they truly are the best piece for spring.

Items used:
Callie's Picks - Makini Jumpsuit
Evil Panda - Classic White Tank
Wild Candy - Teal Heart Clutch
Riveria - Woven Straw Platform Heels
Voile - Baroque Belt

Outfit № 3 - Spring Denim

Spring denim is one of the best spring trends that comes in different styles every year. Denim skirts are a very underrated piece ever since fashion ripped jeans started taking over everything. This look is rather simple (due to the lack of newer SC pieces in Starplaza), but pretty put together and casual. It stays dark, but comes together with a few eye catching pink accessories to keep it not so monotone.

*Items Used:
Bonjour Bizou - Cut Out Cardigan
Basics - Basic Black Denim Skirt
Vinyl - Black Sheer Pantyhose
Wild Candy - Skull Snap Purse
Vinyl - Faux Patent Strappy Sandals
Ephiphany - Three's A Trend Necklace

*This is a SC only outfit

Outfit № 4 - Trend Mixing

I did a post last month regarding major spring trends. Why not spruce up your dark outfit by making it super trendy? Stripes and unique shoulder cuts are whats going on in this outfit, and it looks so good. This look, like the rest of them, is relatively simple, but its more dressed up. This is a perfect, dark, high fashion look if you're looking for something on the dressier side.

Items Used:
LE - Lace Cutout Shoulder Top
Original Future - Highwaist Pleather Pants
PPQ - Pointed Mules
Bonjour Bizou - Patent Leather Buckle Belt
Fallen Angel - Tarot Tin Box

I hope these outfits gave you ideas on how to style dark colors for spring, and to never stop styling black, even for spring. I hope you enjoyed these outfits. Leave a comment down below; I'd love to hear from all of you.
