Summer has made its way to us, and it feels so good.

Of course, before you get all the way into the season, here are some trends to keep up with that will highlight this season. Here are my Top 5 Summer Trends and how you can wear them this season.

Trend N°1 - Tied Tees

Keep it cool and casual this summer by throwing on a tied tee. This trend is great for summer, as you can use it to customize any tee into a summer fitting attire. Roll up your sleeves and tie the end for a unique DIY tee that no one else will have this season.

Trend N°2 - Bold Color Palettes

It's been so long since this store had a new, non-couture release! I'm hoping there's some Basics to come but in the meantime, I'm happy to have a few new items in SC.

What I Loved:

Obviously, the fact it's all in starcoins! Lats WC release included stardollar items, which angered a lot of players. So, I'm happy it's back to the humble beginnings this store has always been about!

There's also a large variety in the styles and colours, so there's definitely one piece for every doll to enjoy.

And there's a guys outfit! Even if my own doll is female, I'm super happy when stardoll brings out a new, non-black-jeaned outfit for the guys., They deserve some colour too!

The accessories for this collections are absolutely fantastic. They're usable, trendy, and go with all the other items in the collection. Too often in the past, WC's items have looked super clashy.

(No picks this time as the starplaza is playing up for me!)

What I'm Unsure Of:

The high price of starcoin items. In any other store, I would have written a huge rant, but this is a store that is weirdly well known for it's outrageously high priced starcoin pieces. I'm not saying that they should be high priced, because nobody likes overpriced anything, more just that it's to be expected when we're talking WC.

There's also a number of items that closely resemble ones we've had in stardollars, which is bound to make those who shelled out on them previously, more than a little mad. It's nice for users who wanted them but couldn't previously afford them, but it's no less offensive for those who could - and have - already paid.

What I Hated:

The lack of prints. There's a lot of bold going on, but one thing that I'm mising is the key crazy prints this store is so known for. Keeping it simple makes me wonder why they didn't just make 3 more colours and call it Basics.

Several items can't be worn without somethings - specifically the rather pricey, stardollar-costing, Underneath Stardoll sets -without your dolls bra poking out. Which makes them pretty redundant if you're a new, non-ss member without any stardollars - exactly who these kinds of stores are made for. Way back when, starcoin versions were available in limited skin tones, something I think they really should have kept if they were going to release cleavage-bearing collections like this.

Long time, no post! It's my final, final exam today so this will be quick! I'll do a lookbook later though. I had a few people set up for interviews as well, but people keep answering only half of the questions.

Anyway.

WHAT I LOVED:

I don't normally like Velvet Orchid as a store, but this time Stardoll has made a quirky, mature looking collection that I might actually wear IRL.

They're also clearly starting to learn to look for what us, as members, actually want. More sheer items being one. Denim jackets being another.

They've also kept a really monochromatic, toned-down pallet which, again, is definitely something that dolls - including myself - are buying into at the moment.

The accessories have got their A-game on! I am absolutely in love with quirky purses. Chokers are just the style that never seems to end. And clear strap shoes are the new stiletto.

MY PICKS:

WHAT I HATED:

Velvet Orchid never looks like any other store, but overall, a lot of these items just look like Bonjour or IT Girls.

And as always, every doll's other big pet peeve - there's absolutely zero new Starcoin items. Honestly, the Mini Playsuit is a white tee by a different name - who on earth would pay sd for that?

Which leads me to the bizzare mix of quality and flat-pack graphic styles. How can they justify something detailed and deep like the Satin Mini Dress, in the same release as a paper-flat, round-tummy Two Tone playsuit? Seriously, why to they put white shading there. Bad call, stardoll.

IN THE MIDDLE:

The boys clothes. It's one of those times when I've gotten so excited, only to notice they're just another repeat of stuff we've already seen. It's disappointment, but I suppose it's better than nothing.

Playsuits and jumpsuits in general have a bit of a "meh" ratings from me. Maybe it's my bad IRL experiences. Maybe it's the threat of a full-body wedgie. I don't really know. I think, in part, it's because Stardoll seems to always go for the absolute minimum effort with them.
