I'm sorry to have to be the 100th person to tell you again, but --summer is OVER and school has made it's rounds and has come back again. We're all saddened and annoyed by another year of demanding work and effort, for some of us, and we're all crying to not be able to sleep in until 2 PM and walk around in our PJs or other ensembles that would get us a slip for dress code. Although, I'm here to make sure that even though this may not be your year, you're still going to be walking down the halls lookin' cute and no one can have anything on you, because they know you're killing it too. As always, here are my Top 5 Back to School Trends for 2017.

Trend
Nº 1 - Denim, Denim, Denim

I think it's safe to say that Denim will always be a safe and excellent choice for back to school trends, but this year, we're getting a little more 'outrageous'. All those claims that say "Don't wear denim on denim" or "don't wear the same color denim" --throw them out the window. As trends expand and change, denim will always be a good idea. Try different styles, pieces, and colors and wear it with confidence, or else you'll feel terrible the entire day.

Items Used:

Bonjour Bizou - Tompkins Square Jacket
Callie's Picks - Jessica Striped Turtleneck Top
Special Offer - Le Boy IT Bag
Hot Buys (Summer Retro) - Hotbuys Charm Necklace
Velvet Orchid - Black Rebel Denim
Special Offer - Ribbon Wrap Couture Leggings
It Girls - Striped Socks
Cheap Monday - Layer Boot Hide

Trend Nº 2 - Leather Details

Mix up your look by switching out a basic jacket (or it's sleeves), skirt, and footwear for something with leather. Leather is such a great material that adds a fresh edginess to your look. Unlike denim, don't go full leather with all your key pieces, until we find a way to make it look good. Leather is a great way to make your everyday style a little more different.

Items Used:

Callie's Picks - Patched Denim Vest
Fever - Leather Jacket Arms
Cheap Monday - Clean Cut Shirt
Original Future - Mauve Mesh Top
Bonjour Bizou - Gold Seashell Necklace
Nelly - Quilted Backpack
Endangered Species - Pleated Structure Skirt
Bonjour Bizou - Bizou Logo Belt
Callie's Picks - Black Pleather Platforms
Killah - Pastel Ankle Socks

Trend Nº 3 - Modern Prep

Take on a classic look and combine it with today's styles for a modern preppy chic look. Have fun with classic pieces like sweaters, ties, and plaid skirts. Create a unique look by mixing all your favorite patterns, colors, and textures for something to brighten and make your year more exciting. Experiment with layering and keep it simple.

Items Used:

Cheap Monday - Clean Cut Shirt
It Girls - Blue Wool Sweater
MR. - Preppy Sweater
Bonjour Bizou - Faux Metallic Leather Shorts
Apries Ski - Crossover Knot Belt
Callie's Picks - White Clasp Shoulder Purse
Callie's Picks - Chenell Sandals
Callie's Picks - White Bunny Shades

Trend Nº 4 - Summer Overalls

Bring summer attire to the class room with some classic denim overalls or even shortalls. Throw them over any pattern shirt (or the classically in style floral tee) for a cute and simple look that looks more put together and fun for an easy outfit. Mix your overalls with bright colors and unique accessories for a fun look that doesn't let you forget summer.

Items Used:

The Jetset - Denim Street Overall
Bonjour Bizou - Bouquet Blouse
Bonjour Bizou - Highwaisted Shorts
Inspired by Chanel - Chunky Chanel Necklace
Inspired by Gucci - Gucci Yellow Shoulder Bag
Callie's Picks - Worn Boots W Ankle Socks

Trend Nº 5 - Sporty Schoolboy

The outfit on the inspiration picture, definitely looked way more fitting than this outfit is with the title, but here's a sporty feminine grunge look that you could rock down the halls this year. Play around with "tough" materials like leather and chains, add dark colors and add some finalizing bright pops of feminine styles and accessories.

Items Used:

Callie's Picks - White Collared Crop Top
Fallen Angel - Hot Buys Hard Rock Tee
Fever - Paperbag Waist Trousers
Inspired by Chanel - Leather CC Bracelet
Cheap Monday - Mega Necklace
Vinyl - Fishnet Black Stockings
Nelly - Low Rise Sneakers
Special Offer - Chanel It Bag Backpack
Original Future - Faux Leather Cap

Hi dollies!

Being a Non-SS for myself, I understand how hard it is to get a perfect starcoin outfit. So, here I have a series of 'Starcoin Styling'.

Hi, dollies!

The Peculiar Pieces Series is all about different seemingly innocent articles of clothing that have been oddly received in the Stardoll community. First I will discuss what makes the piece so peculiar, then I will give an example on how to style the piece to make it more presentable. You can see Episode 1 in this very blog!

This piece is the Pastelle Faux Fur Coat from the Alexander Mc Queen Tribute. This tribute was very well done and vastly popular. Because I adore all things magical, I fell in love with the butterflies, unicorns, sparkles, and floral themes of this collection right away, and bought most of the items! I did not at the time, however, buy this coat- and I am so thankful that I didn't. As I said before, the collection was very popular, so after it left Starplaza all of the prices on the Starbazaar were very high- except for the coat. As I browsed I could see so many of the coats being sold for prices ranging from 30 to TWO STARDOLLARS!!! I was able to buy 2 coats and only loose 6 stardollars! Why the peculiar price, you ask?

I personally didn't mind the coat at all, but I can understand why others would not like it. First, while my style is mainly light and pastel, the majority of the Stardoll Community has other preferences which this coat does not suit well. Second, the large shape is not flattering at all for those who like to show of their doll's body. Third, the fur design at the neckline and around the shoulders looks cheap and poorly done (We have seen proof of how luxurious Stardoll can create fur already, case and point the coveted Subcouture pink faux fur.) Finally, due to it's large size, it is difficult to accessorize the coat and make an outfit with it your own. Despite all this, the peculiar coat has potential, so I will give you an example on how to style it!

Due to this coat being such a grand piece by itself, the best route to go when styling it is to be simple. I dressed my doll up in Pretty in Love's Floral Print Pencil Skirt and the Crochet Bralet from Nelly, but any light skirt and top underneath will work just fine. The coat is what truly makes the outfit, and due to it's cheap availability on Starbazaar, it is perfect for members who are not as wealthy but want to develop a dainty style. With a pair of any pastel shoes (I went with Velvet Orchard's Babydoll Platforms) the look is complete!

What do you think of this peculiar piece?

Hey, everyone!

The Peculiar Pieces Series is all about different seemingly innocent articles of clothing that have been oddly received in the Stardoll community. First I will discuss what makes the piece so peculiar, then I will give an example on how to style the piece to make it more presentable.

This first piece is the Dolce & Gabbana Tribute inspired Piano Skirt. When I first saw this piece in the Starbazaar (I wouldn't have been able to afford it while it was in stores), I was thrilled! It looked so cute, reflected my love for music, and I could imagine so many outfits planned around it due to its simple black and white color scheme. It was also being sold at a relatively low price for a tribute piece, only 13 stardollars! Naturally, I bought it right away... only to realize later WHY it had been sold for so cheap.

First, the material is odd - It either appears to be a poorly executed attempt at shiny vinyl or to have poorly placed sparkles on a plain fabric. However, the material looks fine when seen from afar, so this isn't the big issue. What IS the big issue is its size. It rests very low on the hips, so it can not be worn with many of the wide selection of tops on Stardoll, and if you do manage to find a long top, it will most likely cover up the black keys of the adorable piano keyboard design, defeating the purpose of the skirt's charm and whimsical flair. Barely any tops tuck can tuck into such a low waistband, and due to the scanty length it can't be paired with crop tops with modesty. Despite all this, the peculiar skirt has potential, so I will give you an example on how to style it!

I paired the skirt with the Layered Subcouture sweatshirt, because the tops's length complimented the skirt nicely and the lace layer covered up the fabric's imperfections, all while still showing off the cute piano design. I believe that any sweatshirt at this length will work, because the loose top will offset the tight bottoms. I added the Thin Black Bow choker from Nelly and the Subcouture Catty Headband to carry the black of they keys throughout, but any black accessories will tie together the look.

What do you think of this peculiar piece?
I'll be back for an Episode 2 soon!

The tributes this summer season just keep coming and giving us some interesting new pieces each time they come around. This time, Stardoll has given us a brand new shoe-dedicated tribute store: Tributes Gallery, which features three pairs of shoes from four various designers. Here, I'm going to give you my Top 5 Shoes each styled with an outfit.

Shoe Nº 1 - Christian Louboutin Inspired Criss Cross

For these shoes, I created a more elaborate outfit to go along with the beautiful elegance with these strappy platform heels. Instead of staying with black through a heavy portion of the outfit, I added a sweet distressed denim skirt and some red accessories to add some color and a unique feel to the look. To replay the black into the outfit, I added some fishnet socks and a lace top for some added elegance, and finished off with a beautiful decorative diamond necklace.

Items Used:

Basics - Basic Redwood Bra
YSL - Lace Body with Oversized Sleeves
It Girls - Patch Denim Midi Skirt
Nelly - Double Eyelet Belt
YSL - Heart Silhouette Clutch
Vinyl - Fishnet Black Socks
Voile - Diamonte Cluster Beaded Necklace
Tributes Gallery - Christian Louboutin Inspired Criss Cross

Shoe Nº 2 - Aquazzura Inspired Dreamy Velvet Boots

These boots give off an excellent 'made for walking vibe', and to go along with that I styled it very simply with the rest of the look having a casual running errands type feel that mostly comes from this unique and colorful dress. To play up the look and give it a little more depth, I added some black pantyhose, a watch and cuff, and finished off with a very complimentary blue shoulder bag.

Items Used:

LE - Patchwork Dress
Vinyl - Black Sheer Pantyhose
Tributes Gallery - Aquazzura Inspired Dreamy Velvet Boots
The Jetset - Denim Quilted Bag
Voile - Voile Gold Cuff
Nelly - Plain Watch

Shoe Nº 3 - Giuseppe Zanotti Inspired Faux Fur Heels

I love the fur detailing on these heels, but I wanted to play around and have fun with a Tokyo Street style look. I also experimented with a little pop of color layering. I started with a white turtleneck, but wanted to give more depth and shape to the look, so I decided to layer a pink tasseled tee underneath, then topped it with a leather jacket for that some toughness to add to the mix. I then used this beautiful side skirt with some character printing on the bottom. To finish it, off I continued to add the soft and cute vibe with a pink choker.

Items Used:

Evil Panda - Cut up T-Shirt
Evil Panda - Studded Leather Jacket
Evil Panda - Cropped Turtleneck
Evil Panda - Corset Effect Choker
Evil Panda - Panda Slit Skirt
Tributes Gallery - Giuseppe Zanotti Inspired Faux Fur Heels
*where else would I shop for Tokyo streetstyle clothing other than the infamous Evil Panda?

Shoe Nº 4 - Christian Louboutin Inspired Harler Heels

These heels are so fun and gorgeous. They work great with a casual party / going out look. The deep blue color also makes it easy to pair with just about everything, and you can never go wrong with a simple dress styling. Here, I immediately styled them with the YSL sequin top, as they just fit so well with each other. Of course, I made the rest of the outfit fit easily by sticking to mostly black pieces. I added these slit pants for a little unique fit rather than straight jeans. I added a fur vest for a light covering as to not cover the shoulders of this beautiful top; added a leather belt, and finished off with a pop of color with this lip bag in a gorgeous deep red.

Items Used:

YSL - Crystals Blouse
The Jetset - Heavy Rock Jacket
Nelly - Slit Pants
Bonjour Bizou - Patent Leather Buckle Belt
PPQ -  Lips Clutch
Bonjour Bizou - Emerald Ruby Sapphire Gold Necklace
Tributes Gallery - Christian Louboutin Inspired Harler Heels

Shoe Nº 5 - Aquazzurra Inspired Powder Puff Heels

These last shoes give off such a elegant and girly vibe. From their unique color to their soft design; these shoes are perfect to pair with simple and flowy apparel. In this outfit, I wanted a soft color to reinforce that elegant femininity displayed by the heels. I added a belt for a little added pattern, and finished off the look very simply, with a tri-color purse that included some of the colors seen in the shoes and belt.

Items Used:

LE - Criss Cross Silk Blouse
Voile - Elie Saab Inspired Pants
Bonjour Bizou - Dual Layer Tartan Belt
Millionaire Mansion - Triple Tassel Purse
Tributes Gallery - Aquazzurra Inspired Powder Puff Heels

WQ: What were your favorite shoes from the release and how would you style them?

Hey, everyone!

Here the doll is risking it with denim on denim on denim!

This look is clearly all about denim. I have chosen denim jeans with a flower print which adds a pop of colour to the outfit. Additionally, the flower print contrasts the rest of the rock-chick look. I have accessorised using black cuffs, a black vintage belt, a gold choker and this adorable cat-ear headband. The accessories, especially the cuffs jazz up the outfit giving it a 'rocking' vibe.

My main purpose of focusing on denim was because denim has made a MAJOR comeback. Hence I decided to take it to the next level by collating an outfit that not only featured one or two denim pieces, but THREE.

Hey! Welcome to a new tutorial.

HOW TO CHOOSE THE PERFECT SUNGLASSES FOR YOUR FACE'S SHAPE

Today it's all about "Sunglasses" how to look cute, attractive with the perfect sunglasses that suit with your face shape. It's not so easy like some people think because sometimes we don't even know how our face look like or what are the different face shapes.
So you need for that the help of your friend, sister, mother or a Professional to tell you whether your face is round, oval, heart or square before buying the perfect frames which are going to suit your face and complete your feature) .
Tips to choose the best sunglasses depend on those face shapes.

HEART SHAPED FACE
Meaning broader at the forehead and more narrow at the jawline and chin. You can have long or round shape but it begins with a wide forehead and ends with a pointed chin. For that shape the best are cat eyes, aviator, butterfly framed sunglasses or a small pair to avoid your face to be overwhelmed by big sunglasses.

ROUND SHAPED FACE

Meaning your face is soft and round, usually has an equal width and height. With this type cheecks are usually full and the chin is rounded with no or few angles. So for this kind of face, the best is to avoid round frames but choose rectangular or square shapes to add angles

OVAL SHAPED FACE

If you have this face shape, you are the most Lucky people in this world because that shape suits every single style frame. Advantages of oval faces are that you've balanced proportions , high cheeckbones, slightly narrow chin. In general large, dark frames are more flattering with that shape. You can choose aviators, cat-eyes, round frames.

SQUARE SHAPED FACE

This last face shaped is defined by a broad forehead, wide cheekbones and a strong jawline. So if you've strong features, then make sure that your sunglasses are bigger. The perfect sunglasses for you are round, aviators sunglasses.

Thank you for reading,
